What does this cost us?
Nothing for the standard partnership, which covers your program’s page and pennd.’s review of every entry. We make money only when a fan subscribes. Sign-off by your own staff, with a staff dashboard, is a paid tier arranged directly with us.
Is it allowed under our NIL rules?
That's your compliance office's call. Fans pay pennd., and pennd. pays each athlete their share every month, keeping a platform fee. Division I athletes may need to report it through NIL Go. More in NIL compliance for schools.
Who reads the entries?
pennd. is a curated platform. Every entry is reviewed before it reaches a subscriber. That's true for every athlete, whether or not their school is involved. An entry may get light edits for typos and formatting, be sent back to the athlete with a note, or be declined.
Are the athletes adults?
Yes. Athletes give their date of birth when they apply, and anyone under 18 is turned away. Stripe verifies each athlete’s identity before they can be paid.
Can an athlete stop?
Any time. When they close their journal, their subscribers aren’t billed again.
What if we don’t like something that gets published?
Tell us and we’ll take it off pennd.’s pages. Entries that were already emailed can’t be recalled, which is why we read every one before it goes out.
